Dr Jane Watkins

I trained to be a doctor at Leeds University and completed my postgraduate vocational training as a GP in Leeds in 1995. I did additional training in psychiatry following this and spent a year working in Australia and then moved to Bristol to join Stokes Medical Centre in 1999.

I love the diversity of General Practice but have special interests in Mental Health, Child Health, Obstetrics and Diabetes. In the practice I am the Diabetes lead doctor and also do a lot of the child health checks.

Dr James Case

Dr James Case qualified as a doctor (MBChB) from Cardiff University in 2006 and went on to complete his hospital jobs in South Wales. In 2011 he gained membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) and became a partner in a busy inner city GP practice in Cardiff. In 2015 he returned to his hometown of Bristol having been offered a partnership with Concord Medical Centre.

James has particular hospital experience in gastroenterology, urology, ENT, oncology, paediatrics and emergency medicine (A&E).

Dr Kyle Roys

I trained to be a Doctor at Sheffield University in 2005, graduating in 2010. Following this I gained additional experience in General Internal Medicine, with particular interests in Geriatric/Stroke Medicine. I have spent the last seven years working in hospitals in Lancashire, South Wales, Bristol and Gloucestershire before switching to General Practice here in the South West.

I enjoy the variety that is inherent to General Practice, and whilst I have a great interest in adult medicine I also enjoy Dermatology, Paediatrics, and Medical Education. I completed GP training, including membership with the Royal College of General Practitioners, in 2017.

Dr Alastair Robb

I qualified as a doctor (MBBCh) from Swansea University in 2010 after finishing a biology degree (BSc) at Warwick University in 2005 and then spending some time working in a hospital in Japan.

I completed my Foundation jobs in Swansea during 2010-2012 and then moved back to Bristol where I worked in Burns and Plastic Surgery at Frenchay and Southmead hospitals over the next two years. I started GP training in 2014 in Swindon and qualified as a GP in August 2017. I started working at Concord Medical Centre in October 2017 and am pleased to now be working in the area where I grew up.

I have a particular interest in minor surgery, skin conditions and musculoskeletal problems, in addition to everything else that General Practice covers!

Dr Nafeesa Arshad

I qualified as a doctor from Bart’s and The London in 2010. I then went onto work at numerous hospitals in and around Bristol before completing my GP training in 2018.

I joined Concord Medical Centre in 2021 and am the GP Research Lead here at the practice. I have a special interest in running clinical research studies in primary care and am passionate to see medicine and care for patients continue to develop. I also enjoy women’s health having trained in it, including the fitting and removal of implants and coils. 

I love the mix of patients and disease general practice has to offer, and the opportunity for continuity of care. I really enjoy seeing most things.

Dr Helen Read-Jennings

I studied Medicine in Cardiff and worked in South Wales for 2 years before training as a GP in Bristol. I qualified as a GP in March 2018 and am enjoying working here at Concord Medical Centre ever since.
I have a special interest in young people, women’s and sexual health and I fit contraceptive implants and coils.
I am married with young children and enjoy swimming, spending time with my family and worshipping God.  

Dr Tim Buckeridge

I graduated from Bristol Medical School in 2009 and worked in various hospital specialities in Bristol, Swindon and New Zealand until completing my General Practice training in May 2016. I have worked at Concord Medical Centre since that time.

I work Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and have a particular interest in palliative care and medical education.

Outside of GP work, I enjoy looking after my two young children, serving at a local church and playing/watching sport.

Dr Lucy Jenkins

I studied Medicine at the University of Birmingham and moved to Bristol to complete my GP training in 2005. Since then I have worked in various practices in and around the city. In addition I spent a year in Africa teaching in a Medical School and working in Primary care.

I value the variety of General Practice and the opportunity to get to know patients and their families. In particular I am interested in Child Health. I enjoy teaching Medical students both at the University and in the practice.

I qualified to be a Doctor from Liverpool University in 2008. During my GP training in Bristol, I undertook additional qualifications in Women’s Health and Family Planning. I fit contraceptive coils and implants and have an interest in Children’s Health.

I live with my husband and young children in South Gloucestershire and enjoy running and growing my own fruit and vegetables.

I qualified as a medical doctor in 1991 and initially trained in general medicine (MRCP) before completing my training as a GP in 1997 (MRCGP). Since then I have held positions as both GP and university academic, completing my research doctorate in 2003. I have worked at the University of Bristol since 2001 (where I lead a group of researchers interested in the diagnosis and treatment of common infections) and at Concord Medical Centre since 2012, when I also become a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (FRCGP).
